Avril was out and about in France yesterday for Paris' annual Fashion Week. Photos of her at the event will be posted later, but for now you can read an article on Av's newfound fashion passion here. The article suggests that Avril is the new Kate Moss (sans that nasty drug habit) after Avril was asked to replace Moss for a Chanel runway gig.

Avril to Star in Olympics Closing Ceremonies
Avril will have a key role in the Closing Ceremonies at the Turin Olympics. She will be the headliner in the Canadian delegation presentation announcing the handover to Vancouver for the next Winter Olympics. Av's performance will be part of an "eight-minute production designed to celebrate Canada and point the way to the 2010 Winter Games." Click here for more on this story. Evan to perform with Avril at the Olympics
Evan updated his myspace today, and along with giving us some news on his upcoming album, he said he'll be performing with Avril at the Olympics in Turin this February. "I have some cool news, Avril and I will be playing at the Olympics in February together. It is our first performance together in over a year and I think its going to be cool as shit. We've been having a blast rehearsing the material and I think its going to be a kick ass show. There is another date we're doing later in the year but I don't have many details.". Avril's Impromptu Interview
Avril did an extremely entertaining impromptu interview with a member of Celebrities.com video paparazzi team yesterday. She looked very relaxed and cheery as she talked about her next record (she says she's halfway through recording!!) and gave a mini-rant about Hollywood. Could Avril work in fast-food industry?
The Kingston Whig-Standard printed a parody article today asking if Avril has what it takes to work in the fast-food industry. The article, inspired by Av's upcoming role as a restauranteur in Fast Food Nation, failed to come to a decisive conclusion on the matter with both Avril supporters and skeptics voicing their views. They even interviewed Bill Kosmopoulos, owner of Avril's favourite Napanee pizza place - La Pizzeria. Bill gave her an excellent review, even offering her a job if the whole music career didn't pan out, and adding that Avril had been in town to visit just last week. Click here to read the article.

Avril Lavigne clones, beware
The Saskatoon StarPheonix printed a story on Avril today entitled, "Avril Lavigne clones, beware. Pop princess still a street fighter." The story goes into great detail about Avril's effect on the music industry, including the "clone artists" using Avril's forumla for success. As the title suggests the article argues that despite all the clones, Avril is still a force on the music scene. The article concludes with a quote from Larry LeBlanc, bureau chief for Billboard magazine in Canada, who says, "'You'll see the others fade away. Avril Lavigne won't fade away.'" Avril Models Gucci and Chanel
According to ContactMusic, Avril will have an upcoming fashion spread in Harper's Bazaar magazine. The spread, which will appear in the February o6 edition of the mag, will feature Avril modelling in Chanel and Gucci creations. Click here for more info.

Avril Lavigne lands meaty role in fast-food epic
Thanks to an article in the Ottawa Citizen we now know a lot more about Avril's role in the upcoming movie version of Fast Food Nation. Avril will play a restaurant clerk in the film which has already finished principal shooting and should be released some time in 2006. Click here to read through the rest of the article.

HAPPY NEW YEAR BANDAIDS!
We want to wish all of our members a happy new year! 2006 is gonna be an interesting year for both Avril and us. There's movies, more music (first up is her cover of John Lennon's "Imagine" which will be available on Amnesty International's pages very soon). Then there's various performances, and maybe a new album at the end of the year, or at least the process of making it. Who knows what else. Thanks for being here and making this the best source for anything Avril, and keep sticking with us! :)

Top 500 Songs Since You Were Born
Blender magazine put out a list of the Top 500 Songs Since You Were Born and Avril's Complicated came in at #197. A Sticky Situation
Last week on Avril's 21st birthday, Av hit the Los Angeles club Element to celebrate. You get three guesses as to what her favourite part of the party was: a) Getting tons of killer presents b) Being surrounded by her closest friends; or c) Being able to drink legally in the US? Reunited and it feels soooo good
According to Evan Taubenfeld's online journal, he and Avril are planning to reunite as a writing duo for Evan's upcoming solo album. Evan left Avril's band last September to embark on a solo career and has kept busy this past year working on new material. Click here to read Evan's journal.

DVD Info

Boobs
Avril's lending a hand to Cineplex Entertainment LP's 4th annual Spotlight on the Cure campaign to benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. "The Spotlight on the Cure campaign has made a significant impact by increasing the amount of funds available to address important breast cancer research and awareness programs," says Leslie Denier of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Along with fundraising efforts at Cineplex Entertainment theatres across Canada, the initiative will also raise money through a series of online auctions. Among the items up for bidding is an Avril Lavigne autographed skateboard which you can find out more about here.
Avril and Deryck's Engagement Party

Matt Brann: Sex God and Friend to the Animals
Matt Brann, Avril's not exactly bad looking drummer, has donated a set of signed drumsticks for PETA’s "Kentucky Fried Cruelty" Campaign. PETA wants to bring an end to KFC's harmful practices against chickens. According to PETA, "KFC continues to cut the beaks off baby breeding birds without painkillers, breed and drug chickens to grow so fat that their legs actually become crippled under their own weight, and scald millions of chickens to death every year in feather-removal tanks in the slaughterhouse." Avril: Bad girl turned good
The Calgary Sun ran an article today entitled "Avril: Bad girl turned good." In it, Avril debunks all of the rumours about her being an alcoholic and smoking: "Everyone thinks I’m this angry... alcoholic and I’m losing all of my friends." Instead she says "I’m on a vegan diet, I do yoga every day, I work out, I’m totally spiritual."
